Rodney Haar (Pop) started his baking career at the age of 15 in Ipswich, SD. After graduating high school he studied baking in Mitchell, SD area Vocational Technical School in 1971. After working at several small bakeries he and his wife (Jodi) opened Clark,SD Bakery in 1975. For ten years he supplied the community with quality baked goods. After selling the bakery in Clark he managed several grocery store bakeries including Publix in Lakeland, FL and Ken’s Fairway Foods in Aberdeen, SD. In 1995 Rodney and his Wife Jodi opened the Gettysburg Bakery in Gettysburg, SD. For sixteen years the family acquired a reputation for exceptional products and customer service. After his children graduated high school and got married he moved to Bemidji, MN where they were now living. Rodney Managed the Bakery at Market Place foods for 4 years until starting Chop n Pops in 2015.
Chris Haar ( Chop ) Grew up working in the family bakery. Chop was very active in sports and activates. He was successful in football, wrestling, and acting. He graduated from Gettysburg High School in 2002. Chris attended college at South Western Minnesota State in Marshall, MN where he met his future wife Jennifer. In 2005 they moved to Spearfish South Dakota and finished college. They decided to move to Nevis in 2015 and get their two children into a great school!
